Collapse of a Turbulent Cloud Core

This is a continued simulation of a collapsing cloud core which is formed by (oblique) shocks in a turbulent molecular cloud. The initial simulation was done by David Tilley (MNRAS 2004) with the ZEUS 3D code. We follow the collapse of one of the could cores with the FLASH code. Here are some figures and movies.

Initial setup:
This is how the FLASH code resolves the homogeneous grid (using the Truelove criterium) from the ZEUS 3d simulations.

Disk on large scale:
This movies shows the formation of a disk which lies within a filament and is 'fed' by a thin sheet.

Disk on small scale.
This movies shows the same disk on a four times smaller scale than above.
