MODEST-5 WORKSHOP
Accommodations

The most convenient, and cheapest, accommodation is a room in a student residence on campus at McMaster University. And the residence in question is really quite nice. It's brand new, and it is set up as suites. Each suite contains 4 single bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a common living room and a kitchenette. The rate for these rooms is $71.06 per person per night. This includes accommodation, continental breakfast, all linens, parking and taxes. International visitors can apply at the airport to get their 7% GST tax back (on most purchases, so keep your receipts!).

To book accommodations in the residence, go to the McMaster Conference Services website. Click on "Conference Pre-Reg Accommodation Form" on the left-hand side, then scroll down to the MODEST-5 link. If you wish to book rooms for a longer time than just the 4 days of the conference, you can do that as well.

If you are staying on campus and flying into Toronto's Pearson International Airport, McMaster has arranged a special rate with Airways Transit to get you from the airport to campus and back. Mention that you are attending a conference at McMaster when you book your shuttle.

If you prefer not to stay on campus, the following hotels are a short bus ride or drive (or long walk) from McMaster University. I have not arranged special rates, although you could ask if they have a deal for university visitors.

Visitors Inn The closest hotel to campus. Has everything you need, reasonably priced.

Admiral Inn (Hamilton location) Between campus and downtown, near the historic Dundurn Castle and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Sheraton Hamilton Hotel Downtown Hamilton, direct bus (about 10 minutes) to campus, best amenities, most expensive.

Ramada Plaza Hamilton Downtown Hamilton, direct bus (about 15 minutes) to campus
