This is a five-year program co-op programme which includes two eight-month work terms which must be spent in Physics related placements. It provides an excellent preparation for graduate school in physics as well as any physics related career. You apply to enter the programme near the end of Level II of any Honours Physics programme for entry the following September into Level III. There is a selection process that considers grades (you must have a Cumulative Average of at least 6.0) and an interview. Students are required to complete SCIENCE 2C00 before the first work placement and are recommended to complete this course in Level II. As with Honours Physics, it is important to realize that if you are considering graduate school in Physics after completing your undergraduate degree, the basic requirement might not be sufficient. A programme close to one of the specializations, or one which includes additional courses in physics or mathematics would be more appropriate. Students interested in computational and theoretical physics and especially those considering postgraduate studies in this area should take the following courses: Math 2R03, 2T03, Physics 3A03, 3C03, 3N03, 4B03, 4F03, 4G03. Students interested in experimental physics and especially those considering postgraduate studies in this area should take the following courses: Physics 3BA3, 3BB3, 3N03, 4B03, 4F03. The full course structure for a student in this stream is: |
